How the Eligibility Process Works

AffordAssist Fast Track Eligibility Process Explained

Transparency is they key to how we advocate for you

No Question is Stupid - Building Common Understanding

Below is the expected process we will go through when the eligibility form is submitted.

Advocacy
STEP 1 : Seek to Understand

Expect a genuine conversation

Using the submitted details on the eligibility forms as well as any previous conversations. A courtesy sms and emails will be sent to reach out and organise a time for a genuine conversation.

During our conversation, it is important to be transparent about your full situation. We are not here to judge you. We are here to try to understand and hopefully can explore a solution.

We will explain to you about the how the AffordAssist program works and we will answer your questions. Once the conversation is over, it is really up to you whether you would like to proceed to step 2. We will also be truthful as to wether we can proceed to step 2.

Step 2 : Seek to solve

Expect us to explore what your options are

In order to explore options, we need to look at a doable budget under the unique AffordAssist Deferred Deposit Agreement (DDA). A specialist lender who is certified to authorise loans without the full deposit, will be matched with you. They will gather all your financial information and set out a budget. At this stage they will also inform you of any limitations.

Our advocates then receive the budget figure and limitation outcomes . Remember we are not sales people and our goal is to try to problem solve. We will explore whether the time is right to match you with the current property options. These options are sent out to you and we cover any expected costs and timeframes.

Once you have selected an option, we then negotiate with the Developer to accept your deferred deposit terms and advocate on your behalf as to why you should be supported. Once we get the go ahead from the Developer we can then proceed to Step 3.

Step 3 : Seek to impact

Expect us to respect your decision

If you decide to go ahead with a property option with the assigned budget and Developer tick of apporval, we will arrange for a specialised conveyancing lawyer to go through all the legalities of the contract and AffordAssist Deferred Deposit Agreement. Once all has been signed and contract exchanged, you have secured your future home.

We understand that to secure a home ownership arrangement is a big decision. Our advocates all have lived experience with AffordAssist and we are here to share our knowledge and arm you with the information needed to support you through this decision time.
